Besides the ssh key, I dont seem to have access via password based authentication on the vm with:

Yes, this is intended behaviour to improve security.
Password-based auth is disabled on all our VMs.
I also added the new SSH-Key.

Ah that's why. Thank you for adding the key. Unfortunately, I still can't connect to the vm via ssh. I am connected to the LRZ Network via EduVPN and tried connection with the key but always get a connection timeout. Am I missing something?

You're right, hephaestus-test.aet.cit.tum.de is not reachable via the EDU VPN.
I will update the firewall rules accordingly.

Hey, I'm sry to write again, but I still cant access the vm. Neither from my laptop nor my PC at home. Am I missing something? I have tried adding the key to the ssg config file as well as directly providing it with the -i option, but I just get timeouts when I try to connect.

Sorry for the delay, I was ill and missed your message.
I just checked, we are restricting access on the network level to our chair's VPN.
Did you ever have access to the VM? Did you use a jump host before?

Hey Magnus,

no I never had access to the vm since I requested it.

I'm sry, I dont know what you mean by jump host but I did not use anything else then EduVPN Client.

Do I need a different VPN configuration?
